You're so nice, it makes me angry!

How do you get upset at inadequate service when they're so pleasant about it?

Recently I've been having a little FTP trouble with my domain host and it wasn't until the third call that the problem was finally identified.  The thing is, their service reps are always so very courteous and polite that I find it hard to get mad at them for not knowing how to do their job as well as they should.  I mean, seriously...how do you get angry at someone who apologizes for apologizing?

Regardless, I can't really complain much because despite this small problem, my domain host has been the most worthwhile of all the companies I've dealt with.  Usually my problems are resolved pretty quickly and with a good amount of competency.  Which means less time on the phone and the computer, and more time taking pictures.

The Hard Way

Today I was reminded of just why I bring my own camera with me wherever I go.

I participate in a "photo a day" project (or P.366 as we call it) with a group of friends.  The idea is to, well, take a photo a day.  Everyday.  For the entire year.  Doesn't seem like such a hard task.  But when you neglect to bring your camera with you and a good photo opportunity comes up, you end up using the closest camera to you.  But unfortunately, I didn't check all the settings before using it to ensure I was using my preferred image output.  Rookie mistake.

I didn't lose the image or get a bad quality photo, but the image was saved as a standard JPEG format instead of RAW - a format that allows for much better post production work.  I still got a great image, but the nit-picky side of me will always twitch a little whenever I look at that photo.  Lesson learned.

Pardon...

Instead of tripping over cables and lumber and bags of concrete, nowadays new business trip over coding and images and fonts. Regardless of the location, there's always a lot of dust kicked up when getting yourself established.

So I ask your pardon in wading through my digital dust as I get things going!
